Toneregn is an ensemble that performs newly written music by Vibe Ulbrandt and Niels Ulbrandt.
We are inspired by nature, philosophy and the cosmos, and we love the magic when music collaborates with other art forms and disciplines.
The musical language is a crossover between folk music, jazz and classical.
Some compositions are sound collages that are a little harder to define a genre, using, for example, sounds recorded in nature. We play both acoustically and electro-acoustically.
Our passion is to create encounters in art, and our projects have involved art forms such as dance, visual arts, textile design and gastronomy.
MUSICIANS IN TONEREGN:
Vibe Ulbrandt is a singer and plays the frame drums, flute, piano and guitar. Her singing is influenced by both rhythmic and classical training, as well as a love of Celtic folk music.
Composes for Toneregn and is a multi-artist in connection with Toneregn’s projects.
Exhibited visual works in 2025 as a part of “Dødishuller – Maleri og Musik skabt i Mols Bjerge” (“Kettle Holes – Painting and Music created in Mols Bjerge”) in Kunstbygningen Tinghuset in Ebeltoft (Calligraphy, photo, mobiles and sketches).
Niels Ulbrandt is a trained jazz pianist, with a taste for extended harmony and improvisation. He plays the piano, keyboards and electronics.
